Sprout Activated Little Millet (Samalu)

Sprout Activated | Improved Nutritional Profile | Better Nutrient Bioavailability

The Good Health Sprout Activated Little Millet (Samalu) is prepared through a carefully controlled process of cleaning, washing, soaking, germination and low temperature drying. The millet is processed to the desired sprouting stage and carefully dried, creating a convenient ingredient for everyday cooking.

Why Sprout Activation?

Sprouting is a natural preparation process in which Little Millet (Samalu) is soaked and allowed to germinate under controlled conditions. During this process, enzyme activity increases and certain naturally occurring antinutritional factors can be reduced, which may improve the availability of certain nutrients. Once the desired sprouting stage is reached, the millet is dried at low temperature to stop further germination.

Our Sprout Activation Process

The Little Millet (Samalu) grains are carefully cleaned and washed to remove impurities, dust and surface contaminants, then soaked in water along with lime juice or raw papaya enzyme (papain). After soaking, the grains are rinsed, dehusked and soaked again to prepare them for germination. The grains are then drained and allowed to sprout in a controlled warm and moist environment until the desired sprouting stage is reached. The process is then stopped, and the sprouted millet is dried at low temperature for convenient use.
